Q: I was thinking of how to defeat china's economic power and what I came up with is that we invest in african countries to build up industries that compete with china made stuff -that way we can at least decrease their rise of power. A: You are not dumb, but neither are they. The idea, in theory, would - and someday will - work out. The main issue is that they are few stable governments in Africa, but civil wars there are plentiful. Until things settle down there, which won't happen in our lifetime, you will not see major investments. China is one country (as opposed to all of Africa's) with a stable government and a modern infrastructure.
